In addition to the provision of postnatal family assistance, women who turn to us are allocated a volunteer who offers emotional support as needed, throughout the pregnancy and sometimes long after the baby is born. Women can also access prenatal medical consultation and assistance in accessing rights.

EFRAT makes it a priority to ensure that women know how to access help, through public awareness campaigns, and an active presence on social media. Many women hear about EFRAT via word of mouth or through social worker referrals. EFRAT’s guidelines ensure that individual family and financial circumstances are considered when determining the package of support.

EFRAT does not receive any government funding. It is an independent, non-profit organization, funded fully through the support and generosity of private donors. Raising international awareness about EFRAT’s work is critical, as donations keep services running.

EFRAT has been privileged to help over 75,000 women since the organization was formally established in the 1977. This is a staggering number, meaning that over 75,000 women have been empowered and supported to continue their pregnancy and keep their baby.

EFRAT supports women across hundreds of towns across Israel, with significant numbers of women in the north and south of the country. EFRAT volunteers are located in every region.

We would be thrilled to welcome you at EFRAT’s visitor center in Jerusalem. For a first-hand experience of day-to-day operations, email ruth@efrat.org.il to arrange a guided tour. EFRAT welcomes groups on a regular basis. A group may come for a tour, to hear a talk and view a video about EFRAT’s work. Groups can volunteer to pack boxes for delivery around the country. We would love to welcome you as active partners in EFRAT’s work.

EFRAT supports women with the invaluable help of trained volunteers who are committed to helping women in need. Volunteers are Hebrew speaking and are selected based on their relevant personal and professional skills, commitment and availability.
